Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Nasser, director of international trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and supervisor of Jazan Industrial City, last Thursday signed an agreement with Faiz Mohammed, managing director of Al-Mohtesham Trading, to establish a SR100 (US$26.6) million lubricant plant in the city.
Mohammed said the plant would produce 2.4 million tons of lubricants annually and will be the company's third lubricant plant in the GCC in addition to other plants in Dubai and Oman. The GCC is a political and economic alliance of six Middle Eastern countries Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
Jazan City is located in the Jizan Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Province of Jazan lies in the south west section of the Kingdom. It has a population of approximately 1.2 million and covers an area of 40,000 km2.
