Total to Build Grease Plant in Tianjin, China

Total announced at a signing ceremony in China on November 28 with China Petroleum Engineering that it will build a grease plant at its lubricant factory in Tianjin, China. The new plant will have capacity to make 5,000 metric tons of lithium and lithium complex greases per year.

Mr. Liu Zhongmin, GM of China Petroleum Engineering’s Beijing branch, said "CPE is very appreciated for this opportunity given by TTM to cooperate with Total. CPE will make it be successful and hopes it will help CPE to open the door to work with Total on global level in future." China Petroleum Engineering is a subsidiary of nationally owned oil giant CNPC.

Construction is now underway and is scheduled to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2015.

The grease plant will be Total’s first in the Asia-Pacific region.

Total said the plant will also make 1,000 metric tons per year of tunneling sealing greases.
