D-A Lubricant, Inc. plans to relocate production of certain Brad Penn Lubricants from Bradford, Pennsylvania to Lebanon, Indiana.
D-A Lubricant will invest $3.9 million to equip its 250,000 square-foot headquarters facility at 801 Edwards Drive. Acquiring Brad Penn Lubricants late last year, the company plans to begin producing certain Brad Penn lubricants in Indiana in April.
In an earlier press release last week, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation stated that production of all Brad Penn Lubricants will move to Lebanon. In a separate press release directly from D-A dated February 24, 2015, Christopher Leverich, Director of National Sales & Marketing, D-A Lubricant Company, Inc., stated that the IEDC gave incorrect information in the earlier mentioned press release. In the D-A press release dated February 24, 2015, Leverich said that PENN GRADE 1 High Performance Oil line of products will continue production in the original plant in Bradford, PA. The Lebanon facility has some advantages when it comes to certain raw materials and those products will be manufactured in Lebanon, IN. said Leverich.
Brad Penn products such as those that use synthetic base stocks and some Group II base oil and those that dont necessarily utilize the Brad Penn base stocks produced in Bradford by American Refining Group will be relocated to Lebanon. The Brad Penn corporate offices are also moving to Lebanon.
We considered our options when we were faced with the challenge to expand our production capabilities, said Mike Protogere, CEO of D-A Lubricant Company. We chose to continue our growth in Lebanon, Indiana primarily for its outstanding business environment, a strong pool of local talent, geographic location and the support we received from the state and local officials. Were excited for the future and continued growth in Lebanon, Indiana.
D-A Lubricant, which currently employs 130 full-time associates, including more than 100 in Indiana, has already begun hiring for office, administrative, manufacturing and warehouse positions.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered D-A Lubricant up to $100,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until "Hoosiers" are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Lebanon approved additional incentives at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation.
Founded in 1919, D-A Lubricant supplies a complete line of lubricants to the heavy duty, automotive, industrial and original equipment manufacturer markets. D-A Lubricant operates distribution facilities in six states and ships lubrication products around the world.
