GM dexos Licensed Oils List Keeps Growing
The number of General Motors approved dexos™ oils continues to grow, not only significantly, but exponentially. When OEM/Lube News last reported in August 2014, just six months ago, the total number of approved dexos1™ oils was 224 and the total number of dexos2™ oils was 96. There are now 359 dexos1™ oils and 119 dexos2™ oils listed. 2015 will also see the introduction of the new dexos1™ specification.

Oronite to Build Additive Manufacturing Plant in Ningbo, China
Oronite has signed an investment agreement to build a wholly-owned additive manufacturing plant in Ningbo, northeast of Zhejiang Province, the People's Republic of China. The investment agreement was formalized in a signing ceremony held March 3 in Ningbo. Oronite stated that its current project timeline anticipates that initial capacity would be on stream in 2019.

Newalta Sells Its Industrial Division
Newalta announced the completion of the sale of its Industrial Division to Revolution Acquisition LP, for cash proceeds of $300 million. The new stand-alone entity, under the new name Terrapure Environmental, has 900 employees and includes a head office in Burlington, Ontario and a 400 bpd Group II lube base oil re-refinery in North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Calumet Reports 4Q and FY2014 Net Loss; Nynas Posts 4Q and FY2014 Profit
Calumet reported a fourth quarter net loss, before adjustments, of $63.5 million compared to a net loss of $15.5 million for the same quarter in 2013 and full year 2014 net loss of $112.2 million versus net income of $3.5 million in 2013. Nynas' full year operating income was SEK 1,336 (US$160) million compared to SEK 533 million in the previous year with net income of SEK 279 million compared to a loss of SEK 305 million in 2013.

ILMA Appoints Holly Alfano as Its New Executive Director
The Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association, based in Alexandria, Virginia, U.S.A., has announced the appointment of a new executive director, Holly Alfano. She succeeds Celeste Powers, who was executive director for 12 years ending in September 2014. Alfano’s official appointment will begin on March 23, 2015.
