Blaser Swisslube AG, a manufacturer of high-quality metalworking fluids, opened its Asia-Pacific Competence Centre at Science Park on 16 April.
The new Asia-Pacific Competence Centre combines offices with a fully-equipped testing laboratory, enabling staff chemists to work with customers from around the region to fine-tune their Liquid Tool applications. It is similar to existing facilities in Switzerland and the United States, yet advantageously positions Swiss Lube to increase its market penetration in the region and especially China which has become the world's biggest buyer of precision machining tools in recent years. Residing in Science Park also enables Blaser Swisslube to enjoy Hong Kong's robust intellectual property protection, competent and motivated workforce and world-class infrastructure.
The family-owned company was founded in 1936 in Switzerland. It develops and produces high-quality cutting and grinding fluids, which its customers use when making a wide range of products, from the tiniest of components to large, critical and structural components in all manufacturing industries.
HKSTP said it is on a mission to re-energise industrial development in Hong Kong and its economic hinterland, with a particular focus on hi-tech, high-precision, high-value manufacturing. "We welcome industrial partners from across the world that can bring in new capabilities. Blaser Swisslube has a strong potential to impact downstream players in the high-precision value chain. It is definitely a valuable new member to Science Park. We look forward to seeing it benefit from the ecosystem in the Park and our industrial estates and drives improvements in industrial precision across the region," said Mr Allen Ma, HKSTP Chief Executive Officer.
