Chevron Lubricants Makes Leadership Changes

Chevron recently announced that Danny Roden, President, Chevron Lubricants will retire on June 30 after 24 years of distinguished service. Colleen Cervantes, currently Vice President, Products Supply and Trading for Chevron, will succeed Danny as President effective July 1, 2013. Colleen joined Chevron in 1983 as a project engineer in retail marketing. She has held a variety of positions in marketing, lubricants and trading, as well as a variety of leadership positions in the United States, Philippines and Singapore. Prior to her current assignment, she held the position of Vice President of Global Marketing, Asia Pacific.

Chevron Lubricants also recently announced two senior management appointments in Base Oil and Planning & Optimization.

Effective June 1, 2013, Patti Leigh, currently General Manager, Base Oil, will be General Manager, Planning & Optimization. Patti’s organization will have global responsibility for value chain optimization and development of strategies for critical projects within Base Oil and Chevron’s Finished Lubricants.

Also effective June 1, Cary Knuth, currently General Manager, Marketing Sales & Services for Chevron’s Americas fuels business, will be General Manager, Base Oils. The Base Oil organization has global responsibility including production, procurement, manufacturing, technology support and sales of base oils.

As general manager of Americas Marketing Sales and Services for the fuels business, Cary Knuth was responsible for the Global Service Centers, as well as all Global Card Marketing activities. He also managed the Product Line portfolio, the three brands (Chevron, Texaco and Caltex) and all Retail Marketing and Commercial & Industrial sales programs. Prior to this role, Cary served as general manager of gasoline marketing and retail sales at over 3,000 Chevron and Texaco branded stations in nine western continental states, Hawaii and Western Canada.

Knuth has held a variety of positions, working for the company throughout the United States. He has worked as a district sales manager for the fuels business in several markets, managing the company-operated operations in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Atlanta, and Southern Louisiana. In Los Angeles he was responsible for the fuels retail operations in the Los Angeles basin. Knuth has previously held roles, such as interim vice president of Marketing for the Americas and regional marketing director for North America.

A native of western Oregon, Knuth graduated from Brigham Young University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He later graduated from Oregon State University with a Master of Business Administration degree. He joined Chevron in 1990 as a marketing specialist in the West Central Region in Northern California.
