NMMA Issues Its 2015 TC-W3®, FC-W®, and FC-W Catalyst Compatible® Certified Oils Lists

The National Marine Manufacturers Association has issued its 2015 list of approved, or certified, TC-W3®, FC-W®, and Catalyst Compatible FC-W® engine oils. Most of the new TC-W3 brands are from overseas where these engines are still popular while most of the new FC-W brands are in the US. Fee for the NMMA oil registration remains at $1600 annually.

Lubrizol Announces SAE 0W-16 Ultra-Low Viscosity Additive, Lubrizol® PV1116

Lubrizol last week announced its new Lubrizol® PV1116 additive system that delivers enhanced fuel economy above and beyond the benefits of lower 0W-16 viscosity grade. In November 2014, Lubrizol announced the introduction of its series of additives for SAE 0W-16 ultra-low viscosity lubricants, with Lubrizol® PV1016, the first product in Lubrizol's series.

LUKOIL Signs Lube Supply Agreement with Russian Automotive Partnership (RAP)

LLK-International, a fully-owned OAO LUKOIL subsidiary, and the Russian Automotive Partnership (RAP) have concluded an agreement in which LUKOIL will supply its lubricants for servicing at RAP technical inspection stations. At the same time, RAP specialists and their business partners will recommend LUKOIL lubes for use by motorists.

Russians Motorists Prefer Foreign Oil Brands, With Mobil Being Most Popular

In April 2015, analytic agency AUTOSTAT surveyed the preferences and habits of Russian car owners in choosing and changing their engine oil. According to the survey, the preferred motor oil of Russian car owners today is ExxonMobil's Mobil, followed by Castrol, then Shell, Germany's LIQUI MOLY and France's Motul rounding out the top five.
