Valvoline Announces Lube Price Increase

In a letter dated April 28, 2014, Valvoline announced it will increase prices on Valvoline branded lubricant products effective June 2, 2013. Prices will increase up to 4% and vary by sku and segment. Valvoline states that this price adjustment is a result of rising raw material costs associated with manufacturing and distribution.

ExxonMobil announced the previous week that it will increase its branded and unbranded lubricant and grease prices by up to 4%, effective June 5, 2014. This followed the announcement by Shell Oil Products US (SOPUS) approximately one month ago of a general price increase on lubricants of up to 4%, effective May 5, 2014.

Valvoline's most recent previous price adjustment was announced on September 6, 2013 when it increased prices on branded and private label lubricant product up to 4% effective October 7, 2013. Valvoline also stated at that time the price adjustment was a result of rising raw material costs associated with manufacturing and distribution.
