Lubrizol announced last Wednesday it is introducing its series of efficient additives for SAE 0W-16 ultra-low viscosity (ULV) lubricants. The first product in Lubrizol's SAE 0W-16 series, Lubrizol PV1016, supports API SN licensable lubricants and offers ultra-low viscosity efficiency with superior durability.

PetroChoice announced last Monday that it has acquired PetroLiance, headquartered in Apex, North Carolina. Shane O'Kelly will remain as CEO of PetroChoice. Kevin McCarter will serve as a consultant to the combined company until his planned retirement in 2015. Bob Crouch, COO of PetroLiance, will join PetroChoice as an Executive Vice President.

Neste Oil announced last Tuesday it is enhancing its product availability by making repackaged NEXBASE Group III base oils available for customers in the U.S. Univar will purchase NEXBASE base oils in bulk from Renkert Oil for repackaging in totes and drums. This is the first time that NEXBASE base oils will be available for purchase in drums or totes in the U.S.

Air Products is building a hydrogen lab capable of performing high pressure and high temperature hydrogenation reactions at its corporate headquarters in Allentown, Pa., that will support the fast growing oil recycling industry. Air Products will use the new lab, scheduled to be operational in the third quarter of 2015, to help oil recyclers optimize their hydrotreatment processes.

Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd, a Hinduja Group company, has delayed the commissioning of its expansion project, which will boost the capacity to 90,000-95,000 tonnes annually, at Silvassa in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, until January. The company also plans to begin construction of its proposed Rs125-crore (US$20.3 million), new blending plant near Chennai shortly.

FUCHS PETROLUB sales revenues increased by EUR 24 million or nearly 2% to EUR 1,403 million from EUR 1,379 during the same period in 2013. Earnings before interest and tax of EUR 236 million essentially reached the previous year's level of EUR 237 million. At EUR 164 million, earnings after tax were 1% below the previous year's value of EUR 166.
