Piaggio and Castrol Sign Global Lube Supply Agreement

Castrol and the Piaggio Group last Monday signed a multiannual global agreement for the supply of lubricants for the Italian Group’s motorised two-wheeler brands, Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Derbi and Gilera.

The agreement covers the exclusive supply of first fill engine oil for Piaggio Group two-wheelers manufactured around the world and for its commercial vehicles produced in Italy, as well as the supply of Castrol industrial and driveline products.

Its commercial vehicles include fixed deck and tipper bed trucks, vans and other vehicles.

The recommended products by Piaggio Group, Castrol POWER1 5W-40 and Castrol POWER1 10W-40, will also be available for aftersales in major world markets, and in addition will be distributed through Piaggio’s multibrand Motoplex stores in Europe and Asia Pacific.

The decision to choose Castrol as a Piaggio Group supplier followed a strict testing process including extensive field trials, which demonstrated Castrol POWER1 oil’s performance in terms of engine efficiency and durability according to the Italian equipment builder.

Piaggio's corporate headquarters are located in Pontedera, Italy. Its various subsidiaries employ a total of 7,053 employees who produced a total of 519,700 vehicles in 2014. Piaggio operates six research and development centers and operates in over 50 countries.
