Shell Announces Lube Price Increases

Shell Oil Products US (SOPUS) notified U.S. customers last Monday of a general price increase on lubricants of up to 4%, effective May 5, 2014. Shell noted in its letter that In some instances, the amount of the price change may fall outside the 4 percent range. Shell also stated in the letter "This adjustment is due in part to increasing costs of raw materials used in the production and delivery of our products”.

In an earlier announcement dated March 10, Shell advised it would be increasing the price of Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra Platinum full synthetic motor oil products, which utilize Shell's PurePlus (GTL) Technology, by up to 5% effective June 1, 2014.

Shell last raised lube prices, by up to 4%, effective September 23, 2013.
