ExxonMobil Chemical Opens New mPAO Synthetic Base Stocks Plant
ExxonMobil Chemical last Friday announced the opening of its world-scale manufacturing facility that will enable the company to produce up to 50,000 tons annually of SpectraSyn Elite metallocene polyalphaolefin (mPAO) synthetic lubricant base stocks at its integrated refining and chemical complex in Baytown, Texas.

NMMA Issues Its 2014 TC-W3®, FC-W®, and FC-W Catalyst Compatible® Certified Oils Lists
The National Marine Manufacturers Association has issued it's 2014 list of approved, or certified, TC-W3®, FC-W®, and Catalyst Compatible FC-W® engine oils. Most of the new TC-W3 brands are from overseas where these engines are still popular while most of the new FC-W brands are in the US. Fee for the NMMA oil registration remains at $1600 annually.

Calumet Makes Another Acquisition
Calumet announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire ADF Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Anchor Drilling Fluids USA, Inc. on a debt-free basis for total cash consideration of approximately $235 million. Calumet expects to close the acquisition of Anchor by March 31, 2014.

Chevron Appoints South Africa's Umongo Petroleum as Distributor of Its Base Oils
Chevron Products Company, a Chevron U.S.A. Inc. division, announced that its affiliate Chevron South Africa (PTY) Ltd. has selected petroleum distribution company Umongo Petroleum Additives, based in Umhlanga Ridge, South Africa, to be an authorized distributor of Chevron premium base oils in South Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa.
