Jack Baker, President of CAM2 since its inception in 1984, along with a group of investors that includes Walter Tyson, former Senior VP of Martin Lubricants/Cross Oil, have acquired ownership of CAM2 International, LLC from Omega Holdings Co, LLC. Jack Baker will take on the role of CEO and Walter Tyson will become the new President.

The global lubricants market is flat, up only 1% with an estimated 39.2 million tons in 2013 compared to 38.8 million tons in 2012. In terms of lubricants volume consumed, the United States continues to be the largest country market. Russia has surpassed Japan and is now the fourth largest country market, after China and India, number two and three, respectively.

Rising vehicle production and manufacturing output accompanied by the enforcement of eco-friendly policies have lent momentum to the global lubricant market. Demand will escalate especially in developing countries such as Brazil, Russia, India and China, with Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa also emerging as potential growth markets.

Used oil re-refiner Heritage-Crystal Clean announced that its revenues for the fourth quarter and the full year increased 18.5% and 12.1% respectively. FUCHS PETROLUB SE reported that its fourth quarter 2013 sales revenues rose to EUR 1,831.6 million, while profit after tax increased 5.6% to EUR 218.6 million.

Clarion® Lubricants, part of the CITGO Lubricants, announced it is expanding its product offerings with two new products: Clarion Green Synthetic Fluids, which are fully synthetic, and Clarion Green Bio, which are premium anti-wear hydraulic fluids formulated with high oleic natural esters.

Hyundai Motor America has announced it will recommend Quaker State® motor oils for Hyundai's dealer network as part of a new lubricants program. Beginning this month, participating Hyundai dealers will provide Quaker State branded motor oils for the vehicles they service. Hyundai also uses Quaker State as the primary supplier of initial-fill motor oil for its vehicles.
