Afton Chemical Corporation announced last Wednesday that it has selected ChemPoint.com, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Univar Inc., as its exclusive distributor of packaged goods in the United States and Canada, effective Aug. 1, 2015. The agreement covers the packaging and distribution of all packaged products by ChemPoint, including the HiTEC®, Polartech®, and Actrasol® product lines.

“This relationship was formed to improve Afton’s service offerings to its customers and strengthen our overall supply chain,” said Ken Cundy, Afton Chemical VP of North America. “ChemPoint will act as an extension of Afton, improving our lead times and delivery performance for all customers who buy products in totes, drums or smaller packages. We are very impressed with the ChemPoint team and are confident they will provide the best experience for our customers.”

Afton and ChemPoint worked together to build a custom supply chain network that addresses the specific needs and Canada of Afton’s customers. ChemPoint will power this new logistics organization, making products available in more locations, in closer proximity to customers.

Afton and ChemPoint will be implementing this new agreement in phases.
