UAE's German Mirror Lubricants Launches Its Mirr Oils in India

Headquartered in Hamriya Free Zone,  Sharjah. UAE, German Mirror Lubricants and Greases has launched its Mirr Oils brand of lubricants in India. The company will be distributing the Mirr Oils through A N Corp, a part of Mumbai based R S Jhaveri Group which specializes in steel imports.

The Indian lubricant business will reach 2.3 million metric tonnes by the end of March 2019 and German Mirror plans to have a 0.5 percent market share of it Managing Director Mohammed Hussein Hindi said in a statement.

German Mirror said that during the initial phase, Mirr Oils will cover the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Odisha. The company plans to cover eight more states by June 2018, it added.

Once the volume reaches a certain scale of over 1500 kilolitres a month, both German Mirror Lubricants and Greases and A. N. Corp may convert the tie-up into a manufacturing and distribution joint venture, Hindi noted. He also said that German Mirror, which has presence in more than 70 countries, is also evaluating market conditions to set up a blending plant in India in the near future.

"We are evaluating market condition to set up lubricant oil blending plant in the near future. The strategy is to acquire 0.5% share of 2.3 million metric tones by end of 2019   We will take a decision of putting up a manufacturing facility here by 2020," added Hindi.

Aniket Jhaveri, CEO of A. N. Corp said, "With the latest technology from Mirr Oil and our expertise in the industry our alliance can achieve greater volumes."

Hindi noted India is the third largest market in the world after China and US with 6% global share and it has a potential to be amongst the top two markets as the domestic lubricant market has grown by 13 percent since 2013 despite a global slowdown in the last couple of years.

The company manufactures lubricants for a wide range of applications covering sectors such as Automotive, Marine, Industrial and other specialty products.
