BP to Build 200,000 TPY Lubricants Blending Plant in China

BP last Wednesday announced plans to build a new lubricants blending plant in China. The new plant will be BP’s third lubricants blending plant in China and, with expected investment of around RMB1.5 billion (US$230 million), will also represent BP’s single largest blending plant investment worldwide.

API CK-4 and FA-4 Diesel Oils Readily Available on Anniversary of Engine Oil Categories

The American Petroleum Institute is reporting that since being launched on December 1, 2016, API CK-4 and FA-4 diesel engine oils have become readily available for the trucking, construction and agriculture industries. The API has licensed approximately 654 CK-4 and 83 FA-4 oils which ensure that the newest categories of diesel oils are available in the marketplace.

ExxonMobil Launches New 100,000 Mile ODI Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5W-30 Oil

ExxonMobil has introduced a new, advanced lineup of Mobil Delvac 1™ synthetic heavy-duty diesel engine oils, capable of oil drain intervals of up to 100,000 miles. The new lineup includes three products that meet either API CK-4 or FA-4 specification: Mobil Delvac 1™ ESP 5W-30, Mobil Delvac 1™ Advanced Fuel Economy 5W-30 and Mobil Delvac 1™ ESP 5W-40.

UAE's German Mirror Lubricants Launches Its Mirr Oils in India

Sharjah, UAE-based German Mirror Lubricants and Greases has launched its Mirr Oils brand of lubricants in India. The company will be distributing the Mirr Oils through A N Corp, a part of Mumbai based R S Jhaveri Group. The company said it is also evaluating market conditions to set up a blending plant in India in the near future.

Correction

In last week's OEM/Lube News, we  reported that Kevin Ferrick, Sr. Manager of the API Engine Oil Program provided an update at the Pan-American Base Oils and Lubricants Conference in Jersey City, N.J., on the proposed API SN PLUS standard.  In Ferrick's presentation, he showed an incorrect date. The proposed first licensing date for SN PLUS is May 1, 2018, not June 1.
