OMV Refining & Marketing GmbH has signed an agreement to sell its lubricants business to a subsidiary of Russia's Lukoil Group. OMV's lubricants division consists of a sales and distribution organization in Central and Eastern Europe as well as a modern lube blending plant in Austria. The sale is expected to be closed end of 2013.

ExxonMobil announced its Singapore Refinery will be expanding its Group II EHC base stock production capacity. The company manufactures EHC 50 and EHC 110 base stocks in Singapore, as well as EHC 45 and EHC 65 in the USA. The additional Singapore capacity is expected to be available by early 2015.

Neste Oil announced last week that it is adding NEXBASE® 3030, a light viscosity grade API Group III base oil, to the line-up of high-quality base stocks available to its US customers. With the addition of NEXBASE® 3030, which is stored at the company’s terminal in the Port of Houston, Neste Oil will now offer a wide range of viscosity grades from 3cSt to 8cSt in the US.

Barbados-based Sol Petroleum will distribute a full range of Shell-branded lubricants, including synthetic products, in Jamaica. Sol, one of the largest privately held petroleum distribution companies operating in the Caribbean region, operates in 19 Caribbean markets and across all segments of the petroleum distribution business.

Lubrizol's Industrial Additives team announced a new oxidation-resistant turbine oil technology, based on Lubrizol RO94HA additive, at the recent STLE 68th Annual Meeting in Detroit, Michigan. Lubrizol RO94HA technology has demonstrated excellent performance in critical industry tests. Full commercialization is scheduled for the third quarter 2013.

ExxonMobil opened its new Asia Pacific Signum Laboratory at the ExxonMobil Shanghai Technology Center. The new laboratory in China is the company’s first in the Asia Pacific region. Signum, ExxonMobil’s oil analysis program, is a quick and non-invasive way to gauge the health of a machine and help achieve optimum performance.

Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. and SK Lubricants Co., Ltd. last Tuesday announced a global cooperation agreement between the two companies that will allow Aegean to supply SK Lubricants' marine lubricants throughout its global sales network of 45 countries and 550 ports.
