Shell has introduced the first transformer oil in the market that is based on the new Shell GTL (gas-to-liquids) technology. The Shell Diala S4 ZX-I I is manufactured from pure GTL base oil which is essentially sulphur-free and, compared to traditional mineral-oil-based products, offers exceptional performance and long-term stability, even under high pressure.

MAG Lubricants, a subsidiary of UAE-based conglomerate MAG Group, has opened a state of the art new $50 million lubricant blending facility in Jebel Ali’s greater industrial zone, approximately 35 kilometers, or 20 miles, southwest of Dubai. The new 30,000 square metre plant, which took 18 months to build, from start to finish, was officially opened last month.

CITGO announced that Dr. Nelson P. Martinez has assumed the position of president and CEO. Additionally, Martinez had been appointed as chairman of the board of directors on May 23, 2013. These positions were previously held by Alejandro Granado. Before these appointments, Martinez served as the managing internal director for Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).

Craig Busbea, formerly VP Petroleum Specialties Marketing – North & South America, has accepted the position of VP Business Development for the Refining & Marketing segment of the Ergon family of companies. Ergon also announced Lance Puckett has accepted the position of VP Petroleum Specialties Marketing – North & South America, both effective June 10.

ROWE MINERALÖLWERK GMBH recently marked the completion of the shell of its new headquarters in Worms with a topping-out ceremony. The company’s new headquarters has been under construction on an 82,000 m² site since December 2012. When fully completed at the end of 2013, the plant will have a production capacity of 120,000 tons per year.
