On June 5, 2013, German lubricant producer ROWE MINERALÖLWERK GMBH, presently headquartered in Bubenheim / Palatinate, marked the completion of the shell of its new headquarters in Worms with a topping-out ceremony. The companys new headquarters has been under construction on an 82,000 square meter site since December 2012.
When fully completed at the end of 2013, the plant will have a production capacity of 120,000 tons per year. The new headquarters in Worms will consist of a total of four halls, which will accommodate the production and filling systems, two warehouse complexes, offices and a laboratory.
Some 120 invited guests gathered on the construction site to celebrate the official completion of the shell. The ceremony began with a topping-out speech by the plant foreman, Erich Brandenburg. Following the subsequent champagne reception, Michael Zehe, Managing Director of ROWE MINERALÖLWERK GMBH, thanked all those involved and took this opportunity to emphasize that the new plant in Worms is an investment by the lubricant producer from the Palatinate which is geared to the future: I am very pleased that the construction of our new headquarters is progressing on schedule. In Worms, we will have one of the most modern lubricant plants in Europe and will continue to set benchmarks with our products, our employees and not least of all our excellent service.
In the medium term, it is planned that the number of staff will grow to 240, approximately 80 more than the lubricant producer employs at the current company headquarters in Bubenheim. According to the schedule, the technical installations will be installed in the late summer after the building has been completed, and by the end of the year production will begin to move to Worms.
Not far from where ROWEs new headquarters is being built, on a site covering an area as large as 11 soccer fields, a tank farm with various capacities will also be constructed. The optimum connection to the local infrastructure, with the Rhine as the central waterway, offers ideal conditions for ROWE to continue its expansion plans in the future.
Despite the relocation of the headquarters, ROWE says it intends to retain all its production facilities in Bubenheim. Radiator and windshield washer antifreeze fluids, brake fluids and industrial lubricants will still be produced there.
