Calumet announced the opening of Calumet Specialty Oils de Mexico, S. DE R.L. de C.V., based out of Huixquilucan, Estado de Mexico. Calumet's global customers will have access to bulk products in Jalisco, Nuevo Leon and Distrito Federal (Mexico City), as well as packaged products from Tlalnepantla (Mexico City).

According to news and oil refining industry sources, Korea's SK Lubricants has officially participated in a bidding to acquire Beijing Tongyi. Tongyi is China's number 1 lubricant maker and a business unit of Royal Dutch Shell. The deal is expected to bring about US$620 million.
