JX Nippon Oil Opens Vietnam Lube Blending Plant

JX Nippon Oil and Energy Vietnam, an affiliate of Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy group, opened a lubricant blending plant on May 22 in the petrochemical area in northern Hai Phong City's Dinh Vu Industrial Zone.

The plant, built on an area of 40 hectares and at a cost of US$40 million, will have the capacity to produce approximately 40,000 tons per year of passenger car engine oil, diesel engine oil, gear oil, ATF and industrial oil under the ENEOS and various OEM brands.

JX Nippon Oil and Energy Vietnam has operated in Vietnam since 1996 and established its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2010. The company was granted a licensed in September 2012 to build its lubricant factory in the Industrial Zone. After completion of construction in November 2013, the plant has now begun commercial operation.

In January of this year, Japan's Idemitsu Kosan opened its 35 million liters per year lubricant blending plant in the same industrial park.

JX Nippon Oil & Energy is Japan’s leading group in oil refinery and material oil which accounts for one-third of the country’s volume and is the sixth largest lubricant oil producer in the world.
