Infineum Makes Senior Management Changes
Infineum last week announced a restructuring of its corporate leadership team, to take effect April 1, 2013. The changes follow the retirement at the end of March of Sara Lefcourt, VP of Supply, and Mark Struglinski, VP of Technology. Chris Locke will become EVP Marketing and Technology and Trevor Russell will become EVP Sales and Supply.

NMMA Issues Its 2013 TC-W3®, FC-W®, and FC-W Catalyst Compatible® Certified Oils Lists
The NMMA has issued its 2013 lists of approved, or certified, TC-W3®, FC-W®, and Catalyst Compatible FC-W® engine oils. TC-W3® oils are recommended for use by two cycle engine manufacturers. FC-W® oils are required in high performance four-stroke engines. FC-W Catalyst Compatible® oils are for use in catalyst-friendly four-stroke marine engines.

Rosneft Becomes World's Largest Oil Company
Russia’s state-owned oil giant Rosneft finalized the deal for the purchase of TNK-BP last Thursday to become the world’s largest publicly traded oil company. The deal for the purchase of TNK-BP from Britain’s BP and the AAR consortium of Russian billionaire shareholders places Rosneft ahead of ExxonMobil in terms of crude production.

Shell Marketing Risella X Next Generation Process Oils Based on GTL Technology
Shell recently introduced its Shell Risella X next generation process oils based on GTL technology from Shell and Qatar Petroleums joint-venture GTL refinery in Qatar. The base oil plant at the Pearl facility, located in Ras Laffan, Qatar, is the worlds first large-scale GTL base oil plant, which has a capacity of 260,000 barrels oil equivalent a day.

Kenworth Selects Chevron Delo(R) 400 XLE Synblend SAE 10W-30 For Factory Fill
Kenworth announced last week it has selected Chevron's Delo(R) 400 XLE Synblend SAE 10W-30 as standard factory fill for new Kenworth Class 8 diesel trucks. The oil has shown an ability to deliver a fuel economy improvement in Class 8 trucks over 15W-40 oils while maintaining lubricity, potentially resulting in a substantial savings for fleets and owner-operators.

Shell Establishing Lubricants Technical Centre in Shanghai
Shell last week announced that it plans to set up a lubricants technical centre in Shanghai next year. In August 2011, Shell opened its first China Lubricants Technical Service Centre in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, where in November 2009, it opened its largest operating lubricants blending plant in Asia and opened its 18th, and largest, grease plant in January 2013.
