Nynas Launches Product Finder App for Base Oils

Nynas has developed a new online Product Finder for base oils and refrigeration oils. The Product Finder web app works on any device and easily finds the oil that matches a customer's needs. With many Group I refineries closing down, the Product Finder also allows one to view the new Nybase product range, specifically intended to replace these Group I oils.

Shell Survey Shows Majority of Asian Drivers Recognize Impact of Motor Oil Quality

In a survey of 5,000 people across five Asian countries – China, India, Pakistan, Singapore and Vietnam – Shell discovered that nine out of ten Asian drivers are aware that a high-quality motor oil can help improve their vehicle’s fuel efficiency. China (98%) was the highest, while Singapore (70%) was the lowest.

Chevron Announces Sale of Its Interest in Caltex Australia Ltd

Chevron last Friday announced that it has entered into an agreement for the sale of its 50 percent shareholding in Caltex Australia Limited. It is expected that these shares will be sold to a range of equity market institutional investors. The current trademark licensing agreement between Chevron and CAL will remain in effect following the transaction.

Shell, AirFlow Developing Hyper-fuel-efficient Concept Tractor-trailer

Shell Lubricants has partnered with Bob Sliwa, owner of Airflow Truck Co., to develop a hyper-fuel-efficient Class 8 truck and trailer concept vehicle. The concept truck, nicknamed the StarShip, calls for the truck and trailer to be joined as a single, integrated unit. Silwa's Airflow BulletTruck, built in 2012, and driven coast to coast at 65,000 lbs GVW, averaged 13.4 mpg.

FUCHS Increases Sales Revenues and Repeats Previous Year's Record Earnings

Mannheim Germany-based lubricants maker Fuchs Petrolub AG reported last Tuesday that its earnings after tax increased to 219.9 million euros (US$241 million) from the prior year's 218.6 million euros. Annual group sales revenues were 1.866 billion euros, representing year-on-year growth of 34 million euros or 2%.
