Phillips 66 Lubricants to Continue as Exclusive Lubricants Supplier for American Honda Motor
Phillips 66 Lubricants last Thursday announced that it has signed an agreement to continue supplying service-fill lubricants for the American Honda Motor Company, Inc. through 2019. Phillips 66 Lubricants will remain the exclusive provider for most Honda and Acura branded engine oil, lubricants and other vital fluids to dealers throughout the U.S.

Afton Chemical 1Q 2016 Sales and Profit Fall
Afton Chemical's first quarter 2016 sales were $506.1 million, down 8.8% versus the same period last year. Operating profit for the first quarter of 2016 was $100.4 million, a 4.4% decrease over first quarter operating profit last year of $105.0 million. Petroleum additives shipments for the first quarter of 2016 were down 3.4% from the same period last year.

Valvoline Quarterly Volume and Earnings Increase
Valvoline posted continued strong results, with volume growing 8 percent and EBITDA also rising 8 percent, to $115 million. Total sales at $479 million were slightly down from $481 million in the previous years similar quarter. Lubricant sales volume hit 43.7 million gallons for the quarter, up from 40.5 million gallons.

Big Oil Companies Report Mixed Financial Results
This past week, BP, ExxonMobil, Chevron and refiner Phillips 66 reported their first quarter 2016 financial results. BP and Chevron reported losses, while ExxonMobil reported a profit of $1.81 billion. Refiner Phillips 66 reported first-quarter earnings of $385 million. Shell reports its first quarter 2016 earnings this coming Wednesday.

US Lubricant Market Value to Reach $23.5 Billion in 2020
US demand for lubricants is projected to expand slightly to 2.4 billion gallons in 2020, with a market value of $23.5 billion, according to a new study from Cleveland, OH-based industry research firm The Freedonia Group. Process oils and metalworking fluids are forecast to be the fastest growing product categories.

Avantherm, a Swedish company specializing in Heat Transfer Media products, has started using Neste Renewable Isoalkane to produce the next generation, high-performance and more environmentally friendly heat transfer fluids.
