Chevron Phillips Chemical announced last Tuesday that it has reached final investment decision to expand the low viscosity polyalphaolefins capacity at its Cedar Bayou plant in Baytown, Texas by 10,000 metric tons per year or about 20 percent. Construction will begin in April 2016 with completion and startup expected by mid-2017.

Nynas announced last Tuesday it has added Nynas Base Oil T550 to its Base Oil portfolio. Clear and bright, the Base Oil T550 has high viscosity and will further extend Nynas offering to the lubricant industry. Nynas will make its Base Oil T550 available in Q3 on a global scale through its supply and distribution network.

Croda International held a groundbreaking ceremony at its Chocques manufacturing site in northern France that signals the start of a major capital investment.
