Nynas to Launch High Viscosity Naphthenic Base Oil T550

For more than 40 years, Nynas has provided specialty naphthenic oils for greases, industrial lubricants and metalworking fluids. High solvency and excellent low temperature properties make these oils suitable for many applications.

Nynas Base Oil T550 is the latest addition to Nynas Base Oil portfolio. Clear and bright, the Base Oil T550 has high viscosity and will further extend Nynas offering to the lubricant industry.

According to Dr. Gaia Franzolin, Nynas Global Marketing Manager for the lubricant industry, Nynas Base Oil T550 will provide formulators with a competitive, high viscosity grade that can represent an excellent solution to the current bright stock shortage. Base Oil T550 can be mixed with paraffinic oils to increase viscosity, and due to its excellent solvency, to improve additive solubility.

“Nynas Base Oil T550 is suitable for all industrial applications where high viscosity and appearance are critical. T550 performs very well in lubricating greases and several industrial lubricant formulations, and is also suitable for metal rolling and forming applications such as hot steel rolling, stamping and forging,” says Dr. Gaia Franzolin.

In addition to its high viscosity, Nynas Base Oil T550 offers several advantages over paraffinic oils, such as excellent low-temperature properties and superior solvency.

Nynas will make its Base Oil T550 available in Q3 on a global scale through its outstanding supply and distribution network.
