Hinduja group company Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd, part of the Gulf Oil International Group, has entered into a partnership with Mahindra & Mahindra, the worlds largest tractor maker by volume, to manufacture and supply lubricants for M&M tractors.
Under the agreement, Gulf Oil would manufacture and supply 'Mahindra Genuine Oil' under brand name 'Mahindra M-Star Super' for its dealer workshop network along with Mahindra- Gulf Oil co-branded lubricants for the 'bazaar segment' under the 'Gulf XHD M Tractor' brand.
Upon signing the partnership agreement, Ravi Chawla, Managing Director, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd, said "Gulf Oil & Mahindra & Mahindra's partnership for the tractor segment is an extension of our relationship in passenger segment. We already have a relationship with Mahindra thanks to Gulf X-10, a co-branded product meant for vehicles in the Bolero segment and going down to three-wheelers," said Chawla. "We are testing our products across a lot of other segments in the OEM business including at Mahindra. With a distribution network of over 50,000 retailers, we are confident of ensuring product availability closer to the farms."
Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited (GOLIL) was recently demerged from parent Gulf Oil Corporation. Over the past 6 years, its lubricant business has attained CAGR growth of about 15% in revenues, 42% in profits before taxes & delivering EBIDTA margins of over 12% consistently.
