Gazpromneft Lubricants, operator of Gazprom Nefts lubricants business, has become the first company to offer marine oil bunkering service from the Port of Primorsk terminals. The first shore-to-ship bunkering operation, fifteen tons in volume, was performed for the tanker Seahake.
Bunkering with lubricants from jetties is one of the common types of port services widely offered by Russian and international ports. Developing this new service in Primorsk will allow Gazpromneft Lubricants to expand its retail network in Russia and substantially increase its sales of marine oils.
Gazpromneft Lubricants has been producing and selling marine oils for over 18 months. Our products are supplied to the major ports in Russia, the CIS countries, and the Baltic countries. We are the first company to have the opportunity to conduct bunkering operations from the terminals in Primorsk, one of the key ports of Northwest Russia. This is an important step in the development of this business that raises the companys competitiveness both on the Russian market and worldwide, says Alexander Trukhan, Gazpromneft Lubricants CEO.
Primorsk is the biggest port for the export of oil and petroleum products in Northwest Russia and the final link in the Baltic Pipeline System and the petroleum products pipeline system of the North project. The seaport is primarily focused on the shipping of crude oil from Timano-Pechorskoye field and from West Siberia and the Ural-Volga region, as well as from several oil refineries in central Russia.
