In a letter dated August 29, 2013, ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company announced a price increase on ExxonMobil branded and unbranded lubricants and greases (i.e. commercial and passenger vehicle and industrial lubricants and greases) of up to 4 percent, effective October 3, 2013, ExxonMobil went on to state that different price treatment may apply to selected products. No specific reason for the price increase was mentioned. On April 4, 2013, ExxonMobil announced an increase in the prices of its branded and unbranded lubricants and greases by up to 4% effective May 16, 2013.

Last Monday, Roseland, LA-based Smitty's Supply announced a price increase on all bulk lubricants of 20 cents per gallon, all packaged lubricants of 25 cents per gallon, and all greases by 3 cents per pound, effective September 16, 2013. . Earlier this year, Smitty's Supply announced a similar price increase.

Last Monday, Cam2, whose corporate headquarters are located in Denver, Colorado, also announced essentially an exact same price increase as mentioned above for Smitty's Supply, i.e., all bulk lubricants of 20 cents per gallon, all packaged lubricants of 25 cents per gallon, and all greases by 3 cents per pound, effective September 15, 2013. Earlier this year, Cam2 announced a similar price increase.
