Chevron, Safety-Kleen Announce Lube Price Increases

Chevron has announced it will increase the prices of all lubricating oils by 3% - 6%, effective October 9, 2013. In certain instances, specific products may increase in amounts that are outside of this general increase. Also, Safety-Kleen announced a price increase on blended products of $0.20/gallon effective September 27, 2013.

European Commission Approves Nynas Takeover of Shell Base Oil Plant in Germany

Nynas has received approval from the European Commission to take over production and responsibility for the lube base oil plant and associated production units at the Shell Harburg refinery in Hamburg, Germany. The new production plant will be a core site for Nynas with an annual production of specialty oils up to 350,000 tons.

Chemtura Announces Price Increase for Naugalube®, Other Petroleum Additives

The Petroleum Additives business of Chemtura last week announced a price increase on its Naugalube® ADPA products (Naugalube® 438L, Naugalube® 640, Naugalube® 680 and Naugalube® 750) of 50 cents per kilo effective Sept. 15, 2013. The company also announced price increases on its natural fatty acid based lubricants and its Diphenylamine (DPA).
