Lubrizol and Daelim Industrial announced this past Saturday they have signed a technology license agreement granting Lubrizol the right to use Daelim technology for the manufacture of polyisobutylenes (PIBs). The Daelim technology can produce a wide range of polyisobutylenes from CPIB to highly reactive PIB (HR-PIB).

ExxonMobil announced last week it will discontinue manufacturing Group I lubricant base stocks and associated waxes at its Beaumont, Texas refinery by 2Q16. The company will continue to supply these products from its Baytown and Baton Rouge refineries.

Afton Chemical has received approval from its parent company, the NewMarket Corporation board to begin construction of the new second phase of its chemical additive manufacturing facility on Jurong Island, Singapore. This second phase is scheduled to be completed in 2017.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. said it is preparing to shut down its 60,000 tons per year automated lube blending oil plant in Pandacan by November in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling ordering oil companies to remove their depots out of Pandacan.

Cimcool, a member of the Milacron family, has announced the launch of Cimpulse – designed to allow metalworking shops to utilize one fluid in their entire shop. Cimcool says that in most cases, a Cimpulse fluid can be used to consolidate all the different fluids being used within their plant.

Specialty lubricants manufacturer, Rockwall, Texas-based Whitmore announced last week that Douglas Reid has joined the company as Vice-President of Product Development. Doug will be focused on refining the company’s strategy and streamlining product development.
