Netherlands-based BRB announced earlier this month that the new Viscotech Asia Plant has been successfully opened on August 1, 2016 in Singapore. This Joint Venture between Ban Guan Chemical, a wholly owned subsidiary of Malayan Daching and BRB Singapore Pte Ltd. provides a strong connection to the Asian business culture and is in line with BRBs philosophy to grow through local partnerships.
The core values of BRB are Ambition, Flexibility, Innovation and Passion for what the company does, says BRB. In Ban Guan Chemical BRB says it has found a partner who shares these values. This synergy, combined with a strong sense of entrepreneurship, has proven to be a great match and has led to the formation of Viscotech Asia Pte Ltd.
For BRB's Lube Oil Additives and Chemicals division, this is the first production joint venture in Asia and it offers the opportunity for BRB to increase its flexibility in supply and a basis for future expansion, while being closer to its growing Asian customer base.
The CEO of BRB International BV, Mr. Ralph Pinckaers and the owner of Ban Guan Chemical Mr. San Sim kicked off the opening ceremony:
The owner of Malayan Daching, Mr. Sem Peng Sim expressed that: "Ban Guan Chemical is a 100% subsidiary of Malayan Daching. In a way, this feels like our son is getting married today, which makes this an even more happy event." He is confident that with BRBs market presence in Singapore, Viscotech Asia will generate more business and capture more market in Asia, said BRB.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, the Vice President of the Lube Oil Additives and Chemicals division, Mr. Roger Dohmen together with the CEO Mr. Ralph Pinckaers shared a plate of orange and green lettuce with Mr. Sem Peng Sim and Mr. San Sim, to wish for great fortune and great favor in the coming years!
The plant is designed to manufacture liquid Viscosity Modifiers which are marketed under the name Viscotech®. Viscosity modifiers are used in multi-grade engine oils, gear oils, automatic transmission fluids, greases and various hydraulic fluids.
