Pilot Logistics Services and Thomas Petroleum Announce Merger

Pilot Logistics Services and Thomas Petroleum, a Chevron 1st Source Elite lubricants marketer, last Thursday announced the completion of their merger to form a premier provider of fuel, lubricants and chemical solutions to the North American energy, mining and marine industries. The combined organization will operate as Pilot Thomas Logistics, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas.

"We are excited about the combination of two great companies," said Scott Prince, CEO and president of Pilot Thomas Logistics. "Our goal is to provide our customers with exceptional service, industry-leading safety programs and surety of supply throughout the markets in which we operate."

Cliff Thomas, chairman of Pilot Thomas Logistics and founder of Thomas Petroleum, views the transaction as a significant opportunity to enhance customer service and truly become the "Employer of Choice."

"The combined businesses will enhance our ability to consistently exceed our customers' expectations through our commitment to safety, service and investment in technology, and will help make us the premier organization in which the 'best of the best' want to be on our team," Thomas said.

Pilot Thomas Logistics will combine operations immediately and will continue to work closely with key stakeholders: customers, supplier partners and team members, while the businesses are integrated. The combined companies will be led by management from both organizations and will leverage the most experienced and skilled team in the industry.

"Our commitment is to ensure that we continue to maintain high levels of service through the transformation and beyond," Prince said.

Pilot Thomas Logistics employs more than 4,500 team members with operations in 25 states and Canada, and operates more than 1,500 specialized trucks and transports, 40,000 mobile tanks and equipment, and a network of fuel and lubricant terminals, storage and warehouses.
