Total to Close Two Older Lube Blending Plants in Singapore by End of 2015

Following the announcement of the opening of its largest worldwide lube blending plant, in Tuas South, which has a capacity of 310,000 MT, Total Oil Asia Pacific said it will close its two older Singapore lube blending plants, located in Pandan and Pioneer, which have a combined capacity of 180,000 MT by the end of this year.

The production and employees of the two plants will be transferred to the new facility at the Singapore Lube Park in Tuas, in the western part of Singapore. The Singapore Lube Park is a joint venture between Shell Eastern Petroleum Pte Ltd, Sinopec Lubricant (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Total Oil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. The Lube Park comprises of a Lube Oil Blending Plant by the three companies and the Lube Park Shared Facilities.

Total executives said the impetus for building the new plant is to expand capacity, having maxed out capacity at its two older plants.
