SK Group Decides Not to Sell SK Lubricants

SK Innovation has decided to break off its negotiations to sell its subsidiary SK Lubricants. In the official announcement released on June 15, SK Innovation said the company decided to stop the negotiations. SK Innovation is now expected to focus on initial public offering of SK Lubricants.

Gulf Lubes to be Blended in Antwerp

Gulf Oil International Ltd (GOI) announced it is partnering with Q8Oils, Europe which will see Gulf branded lubricants manufactured in Q8Oils' Antwerp plant. Effective July 1, 2015, GOI plans a supply company that will use the Antwerp facility as the only location in Europe from which Gulf will supply Gulf blended lubricants to Gulf's distributors.

GP Petroleums to Blend Repsol Lubricants in India

Mumbai, India-based GP Petroleums Ltd, a subsidiary of UAE-based Gulf Petrochem Group, last Wednesday announced it has formed a strategic partnership with Spanish oil company Repsol to exclusively manufacture and market Repsol's entire lubricant product range in India.

Laugfs Invests US$4.5 Million in New Lube Blending Plant; Mitsubishi to be Sole Base Oil Supplier

Laugfs Lubricants Ltd. said it is investing Rs. 600 (US$4.5) million in building its own state-of-the-art lubricant blending plant in Malwatte. Also, it was announced last week by LAUGFS Lubricants that it had signed a partnership with Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp., whereby Mitsubishi will be the sole base oil supplier to LAUGFS Lubricants.

Nynas has appointed Dr. Gaia Franzolin as the new global Market Manager for the base oil segment. As Market Manager for base oils, Franzolin will oversee the switch from Group 1 base oil to Nynas’ new product portfolio, Nybase.
