Nynas Appoints Dr. Gaia Franzolin Global Market Manager for Base Oils

Nynas has appointed Dr. Gaia Franzolin as the new global Market Manager for the base oil segment. Franzolin has worked extensively in strategic marketing with various multinational companies across the globe.

“I’ve spent my entire career along the value chain of the chemical industry working to design and implement growth strategies for B2B companies like Nynas,” says Dr. Gaia Franzolin. “Now I really look forward to my new challenge in the oil industry and to contributing with my experience to Nynas’ very ambitious growth plans.”

As Market Manager for base oils, Franzolin will oversee the switch from Group 1 base oil to Nynas’ new product portfolio, Nybase. “One of the key challenges will be providing best-in-class support to clients and prospects during the evaluation and the adoption of our Nybase oils, which will enable them to achieve the same - if not enhanced performance - as Group 1 oils.”

Prior to joining Nynas, Dr. Gaia Franzolin held various roles within the field of global strategic marketing, with a number of multinational chemical companies, mainly within the plastics, coating and resins industries. Her career has taken her to Switzerland, Belgium and China, and today she is based in the UK.

“Gaia is a professional marketer with a lot of experience working in specialty businesses,” says Valentina Serra-Holm, Marketing Director, Nynas Naphthenics Business. “Currently Nynas is looking to further emphasize our role as a partner to our customers. I believe she will continue to improve the quality of our offer and the quality of our services, and will enable us to build even stronger partnerships with our customers and suppliers.”

Gaia Franzolin also highlighted Nynas’ ambitious growth plans, including the recent acquisition of a new base oil refinery in Hamburg and its expansion into Asia, as factors in her decision to join Nynas.

“The management is very knowledgeable and everyone within the company is a specialist in their respective fields,” adds Franzolin. “As a Market Manager, you want your business to provide customers with good technical support, and the technical teams here at Nynas are outstanding. But I also think I have a lot to contribute, especially when it comes to growing in Asia, since I have lived and worked extensively in the region.”
