Cummins Restarts CES Oil Registration Process

Cummins has restarted its Oil Registration process effective July 1, 2015 for CES20074, CES20075, CES20076, CES20077, CES20078 and CES20081. CES20085 and CES14603 process changes are not released at this time. As with the previous oil registrations, consulting and testing firm, TEI, will collect the data and funds for the registration process.

INEOS Oligomers to Build New World Scale High Viscosity PAO Unit

Last Tuesday, INEOS Oligomers announced its plans to build a world scale High Viscosity Polyalphaolefin (PAO) unit. The new unit will initially will have a nameplate capacity of 20 thousand metric tons per annum and will be built at the company's existing PAO facility in La Porte, TX. The targeted start-up will be late 2016.

CPChem Announces Senior Management Changes

Chevron Phillips Chemical last Thursday announced a number of senior management changes, effective August 1, 2015, including the appointment of Mitch Eichelberger, currently GM, Normal Alpha Olefins and Polyalphaolefins, to VP, Specialties, with responsibility for normal alpha olefins, polyalphaolefins, specialty chemicals, and drilling specialties product lines.

Total to Close Two Older Lube Blending Plants in Singapore by End of 2015

Following the announcement of the opening of its largest worldwide lube blending plant, in Tuas South, which has a capacity of 310,000 MT, Total Oil Asia Pacific said it will close its two older Singapore lube blending plants, located in Pandan and Pioneer, which have a combined capacity of 180,000 MT, by the end of this year.

Hydrodec's Canton, OH Re-refinery Up and Running

On July 2, 2015, UK-based re-refiner Hydrodec announced that production at its rebuilt Canton plant, commissioned on June 1, 2015, was temporarily halted due to equipment integrity issues. Last Friday, the company announced that these issues have been resolved with the first train operating at full pressure and process temperature.
