On June 1, 2015, UK-based re-refiner Hydrodec announced that the rebuilt Canton plant was fully commissioned. Then on July 2, 2015, the company announced that during the production ramp-up of trains 1 & 2, equipment integrity issues caused production to be halted while necessary remedial work was undertaken. Hydrodec worked closely with the principal constructor and the original equipment manufacturer to resolve the issues.
Last Friday, Hydrodec said "Further to the announcement made on 2 July 2015, the Company can confirm that equipment integrity issues identified during start-up at Canton have been addressed by the original equipment manufacturer. The equipment has been tested, re-certified and returned to Canton where it has been re-installed. Start-up has re-commenced with the first train operating at full pressure and process temperature. A sequential plan remains in place to bring the rest of the plant online with the full cooperation of the principal constructor and the original equipment manufacturer".
