More Finished Lube Price Increases

Following finished lubricant price increases by Shell Oil Products US, ExxonMobil, CITGO, Chevron, Valvoline, BP/Castrol and Phillips 66, as reported the past two weeks in the OEM/Lube News, independent lubricant manufacturers D-A and Chemlube International have announced finished lubricant price increases.

D-A Lubricants announced a price increase on June 20 of up to 10% on its lubricants, effective July 18, 2016. D-A attributed this increase to the multiple increases in raw material costs it has seen over the last two months.

Chemlube International advised its customers last Tuesday it will increase its Savannah lubricant prices, which will vary by product, on the order of 5% to 8%, effective July 11, 2016. Chemlube attributed the price increases to the cost of the base oils used in its lubricants.

Also, CAM2 advised its customers on June 17, that due to continued increases in base oil prices, it is increasing the price of its bulk and packaged lubricants by 6 to 10% depending on the product, effective July 8, 2016. This increase follows the 6 to 10% price increase announced by Cam2 on May 11, 2016, effective June 1, 2016.

And on June 8, Warren Distribution announced a price increase of 10-15% on all lubricant products, depending on the product. The new prices will go into effect with orders placed on or after July 8, 2016. This increase follows the 5-8% price increase Warren Distribution that went into effect May 23, 2016.

During the past couple months, other independent lubricant manufacturers, including Smitty's Supply, Amalie, Warren Oil, Old World and Advanced Lubrication Specialties, as well as re-refiner Kleen Performance Products, have also increased their finished lubricant prices.
