Dow Chemical Company recently announced it is now 100 percent owner of Dow Corning’s silicones business, which had 2015 revenues of greater than $4.5 billion and is expected to generate more than $1 billion of annual EBITDA for Dow at full run-rate synergies.

The latest entrants to the most recent "20 cents per gallon across the board" paraffinic base oil price increase continued last week with Holly Frontier, Motiva, and Paulsboro Refining announcing 20 cents per gallon increases. Flint Hills Resources slightly bucked the trend by announcing a 22 cpg increase.

Following several months of negotiations, officials from the Aruban government and CITGO Aruba, announced plans last Friday to reopen the 209,000 bpd refinery, located in San Nicolas, Aruba, which had been idled since 2012, through a refining facilities 15-year lease agreement.

Various news reports including Norway’s Dagens Næringsliv newspaper and Fortune.com reported last week that four of the country’s major parties have reached agreement on a proposal to ban the sale of new gasoline and diesel-powered cars starting in 2025. Later reports refuted this claim.

Three of the Midwest’s largest petroleum distributors, Boyer Petroleum (Des Moines, IA), Moore Oil Company (Milwaukee, WI), and the Distribution arm of Lubrication Technologies Inc. (St. Paul, MN), announced last Wednesday they have entered into a merger to form Lube-Tech & Partners, LLC.
