Jiangsu Sinorgchem Technology Co. announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire two specialty chemical units of Emerald Performance Materials from DyStar LP, the US subsidiary of DyStar Global Holdings (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. The plants produce aminic and phenolic antioxidants used in lubricants.

Saudi Arabia is planning a three-way stock market listing for state owned Saudi Aramco, listing shares in London, Hong Kong, and New York. Aramco will sell 5% of its equity, amounting to approximately US$125 (£87.5) billion, valuing the oil giant at $2.5 trillion, overshadowing ExxonMobil's market capitalization of US$370 billion.

Malaysia-based Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd announced it will invest US$30 million to build a four million litres per month lubricant blending plant in Muthurajawela in western Sri Lanka. Hyrax Oil will construct the plant and blend the lubricants for Ceylon Petroleum Corp for a term of 20 years.
