Chevron last Wednesday announced plans to construct an office building in downtown Houston to accommodate its business growth and expanding workforce. The 50-story, 1.7 million-square-foot building will be located at 1600 Louisiana Street at Pease and be in addition to Chevron’s existing properties at 1500 Louisiana and 1400 Smith.

Calumet announced that it intends to invest up to $40 million to more than double the production capacity of its Louisiana, Missouri polyolester synthetic lubricant basestocks manufacturing facility. The expansion was announced Monday, June 24 at a special groundbreaking ceremony at the plant. Calumet expects the expansion to be complete in August 2014.

INEOS Oligomers has unveiled future growth plans for its Linear Alpha Olefin (LAO) and Polyalphaolefin (PAO) product lines. The company plans to build a new world scale LAO unit on the Gulf Coast of the United States, which will provide significant additional feedstock supply to support the anticipated growth of its PAO business.

Italy's Eni and the Piaggio Group have renewed their technology, industrial and commercial partnership agreement for 2013-2015. The agreement, signed for the first time in 2006 and reaffirmed in 2010, will see Eni and the Piaggio Group striving to improve the competitiveness and performance of Eni fuels and lubricants used in the engines of the Piaggio Group brands.
