CEPSA Introduces Its New XTAR Lubricants

Madrid-based CEPSA has introduced its new range of XTAR synthetic automotive lubricants and is revamping its commercial strategy in Spain and overseas.

“All CEPSA Lubricant products are manufactured with state-of-the-art technology at our San Roque plant in Spain, where around 100 people are employed. From there, we export all over the world. We also benefit from contributions from our research centre, where we leverage innovation to offer a product of the highest possible quality to our customers, regardless of where in the world they are located." said José Aramburu, director of CEPSA's lubricant area.

CEPSA currently sells 235,000 tons of lubricants, oils and paraffin, putting the company in a leading position on the Spanish market and allowing it to export products to expanding markets in South America and Asia, as well as within Europe. CEPSA lubricants has high expectations on its recent five years deal with Apsis, subsidiary of the SAIC Group, for the distribution of its products on a market like the Chinese, that has a current volume of around 7 million tons a year.

The new XTAR product range includes the following oils:
XTAR 5W30 504 507 - a completely synthetic lubricant, which has been especially developed for all vehicles in the VAG (Audi-VW-Seat-Skoda) group with or without flexible service intervals (WIV) and the latest generation of pump-injectors. Meets the requirements of ACEA C3 - 12 and VW 504.00/507.00.

XTAR 5W40 505.01 - a synthetic Low SAPS lubricant specifically developed for Volkswagen group TDI motors that use the sophisticated "injector pump" injection system. With Long Drain properties, it is especially recommended for use in new Volkswagen VW TDI-PD petrol and diesel engines fitted with injector Pump (Pump Duse). Meets the requirements of ACEA C3 -12, ACEA A3/B4 - 08, MB 229.31, VW 502.00/505.00/505.01, API SN/CF, GM Dexos 2.

XTAR 5W30 C1 DPF - a 100% synthetic oil especially developed to maximize fuel savings and extend the life of current emission reduction systems in gasoline and diesel vehicles. Entirely compatible with diesel particle filters (DPFs) and gasoline catalytic converters (CATs). Particularly recommended for vehicles with gasoline and diesel engines from MAZDA and the FORD Group (Ford, Jaguar and Land/Range Rover) that are equipped with particle filters (FAP/DPF) and that require an oil with WSS M2C-934B or ACEA C1 approval.

XTAR 5W30 C2 DPF - Latest generation 100 % synthetic oil, especially indicated to optimise the life and effectiveness of engines with gas post treatment (particle filters, TWC's, CAT's etc.) and to provide extra fuel saving in petrol and diesel engines. Formulated to exceed the requirements of the latest models of cars and light commercial vehicles, both petrol and diesel, whose manufacturers specify an ACEA C2 oil in their engines: Peugeot, Citroen,Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Subaru, Honda, Fiat, etc. It can also be used in high performance vehicles in which synthetic ACEA A5/B5

XTAR 5W30 C3 D2 DPF - Latest generation 100 % synthetic oil, especially indicated to optimise the life and effectiveness of engines with gas post treatment (particle filters, TWC's, CAT's etc.). Meets the requirements of ACEA C3 - 08, A3/B3, GM Dexos 2, MB 229.51, VW 502.00/505.00.

XTAR 5W30 C4 DPF - 100% synthetic oil especially developed to extend the life of current emission reduction systems in gasoline and diesel vehicles. Entirely compatible with diesel particle filters (DPFs) and gasoline catalytic converters (CATs). Especially recommended for vehicles of the RENAULT Group (Renault, Dacia, Nissan) and the DAIMLER Group (Mercedes-Benz, Smart) that are equipped with particle filters (FAP/DPF) and that require an oil with RN0720 approval or MB-Approval 229.51.

XTAR 5W20 HYBRID - 100% synthetic oil developed to maximize fuel savings in all types of vehicles, thereby providing extraordinary engine protection and cleanliness. It is especially recommended for hybrid vehicles, vehicles equipped with a Start/Stop system and vehicles with gasoline engines of the Ford Group (Ford, Jaguar and Land/Range Rover) that require an oil with WSS M2C-925B approval.

XTAR 10W40 SYNTHETIC - Universal type synthetic oil reaching the maximum quality of today for the latest generation of petrol and diesel engines. Its use is indicated for the modern engines of top-of-the-range, high performance cars: sedans, sports cars and, in general, those with powerful mechanics and modern technology: turbofeed, injection, EGR and catalyst, multivalves, etc. API SN/CF, ACEA A3/B4- 12, VW 502.00/505.00, MB-Approval 229.1, Renault RN0700, Fiat 9.55535 – D2.
