AMSOIL INC. of Superior, Wis. has announced that Al Amatuzio has stepped down as president and CEO. Alan Amatuzio and Dean Alexander have been appointed co-presidents. Al Amatuzio will maintain influence as chairman of the board.
Amatuzio, in 1972, launched AMSOIL and introduced the world's first API-qualified synthetic motor oil. The company now manufactures a full range of high-performance synthetic lubricants and distributes internationally.
"I just felt that after 43 years it was time to step down," said Amatuzio. "The company is an industry leader, and I am confident it will continue to grow. I am leaving it in capable hands. Dean and Alan have been directly involved in guiding AMSOIL for several years."
"AMSOIL has developed a legacy of innovation and product quality that has garnered a large and loyal customer base," said Alexander. "We intend to build upon that legacy the same way in which it was founded - by driving new technologies out to market and refusing to compromise on quality," Alan Amatuzio added.
Alan Amatuzio has been employed by AMSOIL for more than 25 years in multiple areas, including maintenance, production, industrial lubricants and executive. Alan earned his degree in business administration with a marketing concentration from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He is most heavily involved in the operations, technical and product-marketing aspects of business at AMSOIL.
Alexander has been employed by AMSOIL for 35 years. He also has held positions in several areas at AMSOIL, including distribution, international sales and executive leadership. Alexander earned his degree in business management with an economics concentration from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He is most heavily involved in finance, customer service, sales and marketing at AMSOIL.
