Albemarle Corporation, manufacturer of antioxidants for lubricants, petroleum and biodiesel fuels, announced last Thursday that it will increase the price of ETHANOX 4716 on all shipments globally by $0.25/kg effective immediately, or as contracts allow.
According to the company, ETHANOX 4716 is a hindered phenolic ester antioxidant for use in gasoline engine oils (PCMO), Automatic Transmission Oils, Grease, Hydraulic Oils, Turbine Oils, Transformer Oils and other industrial oils. The treatment rate for ETHANOX 4716 antioxidant is 0.1 to 0.5 wt. percent in industrial oils and from 0.3 to 1.0 wt. percent in gasoline engine oils.
