LUKOIL to Supply Volkswagen Group Rus with Initial Fill Lubricants in Kaluga

PJSC “LUKOIL” and Volkswagen Group Rus signed an agreement under which Russian company will supply first fill, or factory fill, lubricants to the automotive giant’s plant in Kaluga, located 150 kilometres southwest of Moscow.

Specifically for this project, LUKOIL started production of LUKOIL GENESIS VS 5W-40 motor oil based on Volkswagen technology which meets the requirements of VW TL 52167 specifications. The deal helped the automotive giant to further improve the localization of its production. Foreign companies should meet the requirements of the localization of production which is regulated by Russia’s Federal legislation.

Volkswagen Group Rus has made a significant progress in the process of production localization in Russia. Compliance to the ISO/TS 16949 international standard and the company’s own VW Formel Q standard as well as to the strict incoming quality control at the Volkswagen’s plant are required for suppliers of car parts and consumables, including lubricants.

In 2007, Volkswagen opened its vehicle assembly plant in Kaluga, one of the centers of the Russian automotive industry.

LUKOIL produces annually about 1 million tons of lubricants in 8 own plants in Russia, Austria, Finland, Romania and Turkey. The Company is the largest manufacturer in Russia producing 45% of lubricants in the country and one of the top-10 global oil market players.
