Savant Group has announced a $3 million investment to expand its manufacturing, laboratory and training capabilities serving diverse industries including the automotive, petroleum and chemical industries at its headquarters in Midland, Michigan.
The state-of-the-art addition will support a technical training facility for distributors and customers, an expanded customer service area and additional laboratories and manufacturing space. The manufacturing area will focus on the production of precision bench-top instruments for characterizing and understanding the properties and behavior of today's automotive fluids and industrial lubricants. The new laboratories will support additional testing services and technical development activities for the Savant Group global clientele. It is anticipated the building expansion will be completed in the spring of 2014.
The Savant Group is comprised of four individual companies: Savant Labs, Tannas Co., King Refrigeration, Inc., and the Institute of Materials (IOM). The service and expertise provided by the Savant Group enables customers to evaluate the performance of new blends of oils, lubricants, fuels and related products to meet the challenging industry and OEM specifications, quality control monitoring, and development of new test methods.
The expansion is required to continue to meet the growing customer base and industry needs. Rebecca Cox, Savant Group President, explains, In this past year, weve exceeded our business growth targets and experienced a 40% growth in personnel. Looking forward, we want to continue to offer innovative products, services and solutions to our customers. She continues, We are fortunate to have world-class engineers, chemists and researchers who are committed to providing the highest level of quality and customer service possible. This is the foundation on which the Savant Group was built and is our competitive edge in the global marketplace.
Ted Selby, Savant Group Founder and Vice President of Technical Development, adds, Our in-depth approach to testing and understanding of lubricant applications has helped solve critical industry problems and this investment demonstrates our commitment to be an active, eager partner with researchers, producers and OEMs in the industries we serve.
