Idemitsu Doubles Lube Production Capacity at Tianjin

On October 23, 2015, Tokyo, Japan-based Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. announced that it had recently completed the work to increase capacity of lubricants production at Idemitsu Lube (China) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. The work was carried out in response to growing sales of high-performance lubricants in China. Production capacity of the equipment has increased to 120,000 kiloliters (kl) per year, making the plant in China one of the Idemitsu Group´s largest overseas lubricants plant.

The production capacity has been increased from 56,000 kl/year to 120,000 kl/year. The inaugural ceremony of the renewed plant was held on October 16.

With its plant coming online in December 2004, Idemitsu Lube (China) has produced and sold various lubricants for automobiles and industrial lubricants through its six bases; the Tianjin Headquarters, Shanghai Office, Guangzhou Office, Changchun Office, Chongqing Office, and Beijing Office. The company also has lubricant blending plants several other Asian locations, including Mumbai; Karawang, Indonesia; Chonburi Province, Thailand; and Haiphong City, Vietnam.

In line with the work to increase production capacity, a variety of automated inspection devices and automated transportation machines have been introduced, aimed at further improvement of product quality and labor-saving production.

The Company will, with a view to meeting a wide range of customers’ demands from this point onward as well, establish a customer-oriented production and sales system and endeavor to enhance and expand operations as a global leading manufacturer of lubricants.
