Century Refineries PVT. LTD., of Bengaluru, India, broke ground on a used lube oil re-refinery in Matagorda County, Texas. The plant will re-refine approximately 8 million gallons of used motor oil per year with output of 6.4 million gallons of VGO per year. Century Refineries has a similar plant in Bengaluru, India that has been in operation for 16 years.
Century Refineries has plans for future expansion that will produce base oils in addition to the VGOs.
Operations are expected to begin by April 2014. The plant will operate 24 hours per day, 25 days per month. Total investment in the plant will be over $1.7 million. Century Refineries will initially create 10 to 15 jobs, plus temporary construction jobs.
Components of the plant will be procured from USA and India, by the first week of February 2014 plant will be assembled on site.
Century Refineries started in business in March' 1997 recycling used hydraulic oils using vacuum distillation. After a decade of service the company has scaled up the plant to 20,000 tons per year. Century Refineries' plant in India uses the Thin Film Evaporation Technology to recycle Used and Waste Oils.
