GB Oils, the UKs largest independent fuels and lubricant distributor, is being rebranded and will now operate as Certas Energy UK Ltd. Certas Energy currently delivers over six billion litres of fuel nationwide with a workforce of 2,500 people.
The rebrand to Certas Energy follows a significant period of growth for GB Oils; the company has also been limited in its ability to promote the GB Oils brand due to trademark restrictions. Through organic growth and a number of acquisitions the business has grown into the largest independent fuel and lubricants distributor in the UK. National fuel supplier GB Oils has undergone a rebrand and will now operate as Certas Energy.
Certas Energy will serve GB Oils commercial, domestic, retail, agricultural, marine and aviation customers. The Certas business will comprise 150 branded depots and nearly 1,000 tankers, 2,500 employees and supply over six billion litres of oil nationwide. From October 1 2013, the brand will be rolled out across GB Oils existing branded operations to reflect the size and ambition of the new business.
Paul Vian, Managing Director of Certas Energy, said: Over recent years, the business has experienced a successful period of growth as well as a number of acquisitions and we felt that, in the process, we evolved into something more than the GB Oils brand. Our core values remain unchanged but weve refreshed the company with a new and exciting brand identity that we feel more accurately reflects what were about as a business our ambition and our dedication to the customers and markets we serve.
In August 2012, GB Oils completed the acquisition from Tincknell Fuels Ltd. of Tincknell Lubricants, an oil distribution business which distributes lubricants for Shell.
